  Job Description:
  
  We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) to perform a variety of tasks associated with the core responsibilities of the role. The primary duties will include receiving, sorting, and decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment from the Operating Room and all clinics throughout the health system. Additionally, the SPD Tech will be responsible for the inspection, assembly, and packaging of single instruments and instrument sets, identifying the appropriate sterilization method, and selecting the correct sterilizer cycle.
  
  Key responsibilities include:
  
  Documenting and performing quality assurance on all high-level disinfection and sterilization loads.
  Properly storing and redistributing equipment and surgical instruments to the appropriate areas.
  Running supplies, equipment, and instrument sets to the Operating Rooms as needed.
  Utilizing electronic instrument management systems, following manufacturer instructions for use, and ensuring proper infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process.
  Assisting with training new staff and acting as a subject matter expert within the department.
  The SPD Tech will rotate through various positions within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) daily, which may include:
  
  Decontaminating instruments
  Peel packing
  Counting, assembling, and sterilizing instrumentation
  Pulling case carts for surgery
  Answering the phone and taking instrumentation to the OR rooms.
  Shift Information:
  
  Days: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
  No weekends or on-call required.
