Job Description:
Scope of Position: The Ultrasound division encompasses fixed and
mobile Ultrasound equipment located in University Hospital, East
Hospital, James Cancer Hospital and OSUWMC Ambulatory Imaging
locations.Position SummaryThe Lead Ultrasound Technologist position
performs all duties of the Ultrasound Technologist in addition to
coordinating daily workflow, daily assignments, patient flow, and
provides support to the operations of the department. The lead
provides all quality assessment activities for the imaging site in
addition to the maintenance of accreditation preparedness for the
site. The lead will provide assistance in assessing technologists
performance for annual merit increases as well as orient new staff
to the department. The lead may cover additional Imaging
Supervisor/Manager responsibilities as necessary in the
Supervisor/Managers absence or should a vacancy occur. The
Ultrasound Technologist performs sonographic exams and procedures
for the diagnosis/treatment of disease or injury. In addition, the
position provides patient education and performs quality assessment
activities for the division, under the direction of the Imaging
Manager.Minimum QualificationsFor Hire: ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography)
registry required. Minimum Associates degree in relevant field of
study required. Minimum 2 years experience as Ultrasound
Technologist required. At least one advanced certification in
Ultrasound required.Ongoing: Maintains registry amp; licensing
status; meets mandatory education and health surveillance
requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal,
and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
