-Job Title: Scientist, Systems EngineeringJob Code: 17659Job Location: Mason, OHSchedule: 9/80 reg with every other Friday off -Job Description: As a Systems Engineer Scientist in our Infared (IR) Sensors business area, you will have the opportunity to work various programs solving our customer's most difficult technical challenges. This role will have a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers! As an IR SME, you will support planning activities to address development activity processes and procedures for the organization. You will be a technical lead for one or more program teams. Tasks include technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation and verification. Analyses are performed at all levels to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. This position supports the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. - We have a long history of innovative and exceptional performance; we have earned our place as a trusted provider to our customers. -Essential Functions:

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared) for one or more programs
  • Comprehend EO/IR functional and performance requirements and effectively decompose them for our IR sensor portfolio.
  • Lead technical planning, system integration, validation, and verification activities.
  • Broad understanding of Systems Analysis and methods. Able to understand how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes / performance.
  • Coach and mentor junior technical talent
  • Systems Evaluation - Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance relative to the goals of the system.
  • Facilitate and support working groups meetings with the customer and the engineering team.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security Clearance -Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
    • 10 years or more demonstrated experience with designing, developing, testing, and delivering
    • 10 years or more demonstrated experience in the architecture, specification, implementation, simulation, test, verification, validation, and debugging
    • 10 years or more demonstrated complex problem solving and decision making - Able to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; able to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution
    • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
    • Must be a US Citizen -Preferred Additional Skills:
      • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Physics, or related Engineering discipline.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well within and outside of the organization including customers, vendors, and leadership with minimal oversight
      • Prior systems engineering experience on at least five programs, with at least one program being a medium scale complex system or subsystem (i.e., > 10 System Engineers and/or > $15M).
      • Knowledge of DoD component specifications, design processes, and hardware test/verification procedures.
      • Active DoD Security Clearance -#LI-JV1
