  • Job Details
  • 12 James Surg Onc is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. This is a very busy surgical floor. All perm staff is PCU trained.
  • Staffing Ratios - Goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
  • Weekends - variable based on unit needs
  • No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
  • Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
  • First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
  • 2 Years of Experience Required
  • Patient Age group: Adults, Geriatrics
  • Patient Diagnoses: Surgical Oncology: breast, thyroid, melanoma; Hepatobiliary: liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine; Colorectal: colon, rectal cancer; Plastics: reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.

    • Required if candidate is using a compact license from any state other than Ohio.
