Manage a portfolio of ASK Chemicals' Industrial Resins products that meet current customer needs and optimizes ASK Chemicals' financial returns. Conduct research and product development that has substantial impact on financial performance of the company. Additionally, develop plans for meeting future customer needs to the same standards. This will be accomplished through cooperative effort through Market managers, Sales, Product Development and Manufacturing.

Key Accountabilities

Manages the Industrial Resins product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical R&D activities while meeting profitability expectations.
Solves complex technical problems.
Conducts laboratory experiments.
Leads assigned projects and executes project plans with rigor while ensuring that key project milestones are met in a timely fashion.
Assists in developing project / program objectives, action plans, budgets and timelines.
Identifies, develops and commercializes new product / process technologies that contribute significantly to revenue and profit
Displays proactive behavior in safety, mentoring and developing solutions to technical problems.
Collaborates effectively with other functional groups in the organization and fellow employees, and initiates / maintains contact with external contributors and specialists in the field
Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers and determining KPI's for customer's needs.
Input for Monthly reporting to Business Line Managers to highlight product line performance to include profit & loss analysis and technical needs for the future.
Responsible for input on product line pricing and determining the value to the customer.
Oversees the evaluation of competitive products (including competitive audits) and drive programs to maintain technical leadership in the market.
Supports the sales force in developing customer relations, promoting new and existing products, and identifying customer needs and KPI's and turning them into business and growth opportunities
Evaluates data on sales volume, profitability and market share.
Develops related reports and make recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts in the areas of safety, quality, environmental, health, safety, security, and productivity.
Other duties as assigned.

Education required

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Marketing or related field; specific field may be substituted with equivalent experience
Has understanding of what properties within the resin can impact the customer process
Understand structure property relationships
Demonstration of problem solving skills using various tools, Mini Tab or other statistical program, excel, PowerPoint
Ability to interpret complex data and be able to communicate what it means to both internal and external customers

Experience, Know How, Skills, Personality

5+ years' experience working in Industrial Resins for friction, coated abrasives, and refractories.
Experience synthesizing liquid and solid phenolic resins
Experience in manufacturing or lab environment preferred
Knowledge in metal-casting process technologies
Knowledge of manufacturing/marketing operations
Strong business acumen- financial results driven.
High attention to detail
Ability to work cohesively in a team
Must be a self-starter working with minimum instructions
Travel to Plants and Customers (+25%)
