Position SummaryAs the Project Manager, you will participate in engineering, procurement, and construction activities required to build energy infrastructure projects. Responsibilities will include advising on project constructability and construction risks; cost estimating; bid package preparation, procurement and subcontractor bid solicitation and analysis; procurement execution and expediting; management of engineering and environmental/permitting services; management of field operations; management of testing & commissioning services; contract negotiations, execution, and administration; managing the request for information (RFI) process with clients, vendors, and contractors; reviewing and negotiating change orders; construction coordination and progress monitoring; developing QA/QC requirements; and maintaining updated vendor and construction documents. This position reports to the Division Manager or Vice President.
Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with new customers. Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing customers.
  • Review RFP opportunities and participate in development of bidding strategy, proposal development and pricing.
  • Direct preconstruction services and activities.
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP), including engineering, procurement, and construction execution, the quality management plan, environmental & permitting plan, safety & health plan, testing & commissioning plan, subcontracting plan, project staffing plan, organization chart, and procurement plan. Includes training of new project team members on the PEP.
  • Lead and coordinate directly with engineering to establish development and distribution of engineering deliverables per project schedule and requirements.
  • Negotiate, prepare and issue subcontract bid packages.
  • Train superintendents and foremen in the proper handling of job planning, interpretation of contract documents, extra work documentation, administration of company safety program and job information reporting requirements.
  • Set up and implement procedures and techniques to assure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery. Coordinate with material suppliers to develop solutions to logistical and supply-chain challenges.
  • Maintain quality control, including implementation of Site-Specific Quality Management Plan.
  • Conduct job site safety audits to review daily Task Hazard Analysis adequacy, equipment inspection documentation, and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders and customer interface in order to resolve changes, schedule conflicts, document errors, material shortages and manpower adjustments.
  • Initiate, prepare or check monthly invoices for assigned projects. Prioritize the collection of aged receivables and review their status regularly.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management, particularly with regard to cost forecasting and estimated cost at completion. Prepare monthly work in progress reports (value of work completed, but not invoiced).
  • Prepare and process project close out documentation and requirements.
  • Participate in the development and updating of project estimating database information.

    Qualifications
    • B.S. degree in engineering, EPC and/or project management (energy industry), business administration with five (5) years qualified experience, or a minimum of eight (8) years of field supervision or relevant experience. Utility construction experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated skills in providing leadership, motivation, vision and direction.
    • Proven success in developing and maintaining customer relationships.
    • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
      TravelTravel for this position is required and will consist of overnight stays.
