our team to Bring the Future!Job PurposeThe Fuel Economy and
Emissions Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading the
development and verification of tailpipe emissions and fuel economy
to meet Honda, consumer, and regulator requirements. Additionally,
this associate will independently collaborate across the HDMA
business units to verify cross-functional impacts of the key
vehicle specifications which impact fuel economy and emissions.Key
Accountabilities
- Lead and support the development and verification of tailpipe
emissions and fuel economy through cross-functional activities to
impacting systems (vehicle weight, aerodynamics, friction,
electrical systems, cooling systems) through unit and vehicle
testing.
- Analyze and set countermeasure concepts for gaps in fuel
economy or emissions achievements with internal and external
departments.
- Travel to other Honda certification laboratories to verify fuel
economy and emissions are consistent
- Drive prototype and competitor vehicles at proving grounds
and/or on public roads to verify real-world fuel economy.
- Become responsible for a wide variety of vehicle components but
also capable of digging more deeply into problems and seeking
solutions.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams when developing
solutions for vehicle development and testing issues.
- Determine and clearly communicate project status, concerns, and
solutions to division management and team management on a regular
basis.Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical
Engineering
- 3-5 years related experience or equivalent level of education
and experience
- Proficient PC skills, including but not limited to Excel,
PowerPoint, and MATLABWorking Conditions
- Associate will work on the actual vehicle with hand and power
tools. Candidate can expect to spend a portion of their time
working in the lab - confirming their systems on bench, on the car,
or in thermal chambers. (50%)
- Associate will perform analysis and documentation, then
communicate findings to varying levels of management. (50%) What

Pay Details: $88,800.00 - $133,200.00
