Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 Job Summary:

• Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant.
• Responsible for overseeing various financial activities, ensuring accuracy, and providing insightful analysis.
• Requires excellent attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and effective communication skills. Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Monitor and interpret financial data, identifying trends and variances to support business decisions.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate and timely financial information to management.
  • Coordinate and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation expenses.
  • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Assist with tax planning and compliance, including the preparation of tax returns and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial controls.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
    • Proven experience (5+ years) working in a senior accounting role, preferably in a corporate environment.
    • Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in audit preparation and working with external auditors is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
